The current director of music at St Peter's is Dianne Halliday

Dianne G Halliday has been a church musician in Wellington since 1983. Her training all took place in her native United States, where she was a student of David Craighead and Russell Saunders at the Eastman School of Music (Rochester, NY), earning B Mus and M Mus degrees in organ performance and church music. Within twelve months of her arrival she had been appointed as the Director of Music at Wellington’s newly - created Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, and was heavily involved with the rebuild of the organ. In 1994 she became (by examination) a Fellow of the American Guild of Organists. Throughout this time she was committee member and chairman of the local RSCM branch. At the beginning of 1997 she took up the post of Director of Music at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Willis Street, Wellington, where she is involved with the restoration of the historic William Hill organ after a fire in the church in April 2008.  The restoration is now complete (February 2011) and one of the things she intends to turn her attention to, is a series of concerts that feature the organ.
